New London - The Connecticut College women's hockey team won its first game of the season, beating Wesleyan 3-0 Sunday in a New England Small College Athletic Conference game.
Sam Schoeneberger, Erin Davey and Rachel Lindmark scored goals for the Camels (1-3, 1-3) and Sara Christopher made 19 saves for the shutout victory.
Men's basketball
• Walden St. Juste scored a game-high 19 points to help lead Albertus Magnus to a 66-64 nonleague win over Coast Guard Academy. Adam Radtke led Coast Guard (3-2) with 17 points, Trip Fernandes scored 15 and Jevon James had 10 points and 10 rebounds. Ray Askew had 17 points and 12 rebounds for Albertus Magnus (2-1).
• Former Montville High School standout Mike Quinn scored 13 points and had seven assists, leading Bentley to an 83-71 win over New Hampshire in a Northeast-10 Conference game. Quinn is a junior guard for the Falcons (4-1, 2-1).
• Conn College lost to Eastern Connecticut State in a nonleague game, falling 75-74 in overtime. Dean Lampe had 20 points and eight rebounds, Demetrius Porter had 14 points and 10 rebounds and Shavar Bernier scored 18 for Conn (1-3). Edwin Ortiz scored 24 points and Courtney Simmons, who sent the game into OT with a basket with 16 seconds left, had 20 points, seven rebounds and six assists for ECSU (4-0).
Men's hockey
• Trinity beat Conn College 6-3 in the consolation game of the William A. Spurrier Tournament at Wesleyan. Julien Boutete had a pair of goals, Kyle Riffe scored a goal and Brett Moore had two assists for Conn (0-4). Amherst beat Wesleyan 6-1 in the final.
The Day hosted a web chat with New London Mayor Daryl J. Finizio to discuss the beginning of his new administration and news out of the city's police department.
