Two awards were handed out for the Whaling City Film Project on Nov. 25, and the winners were: Mitchell College Video Productions, who nabbed the best film award for "Speechless in New London"; and Shoreline East/One More Stop, who garnered the audience choice for "Rail Woman." The project required that teams script, shoot, edit and score a short film within a four-day period in New London. Nine groups signed up, and six completed the task on time. The Mitchell team consisted of team leader and editor Daniel Erhart, writer and editor David Stull, and director and writer Justin Hammett. The Shore Line East team featured director Alicia McAvay, assistant director Bob Stuller, and producer/actor Laura Cordes. The competition was organized by Neff Productions, in association with SECT Film, The City of New London and the New London Film Commission.
With the Valentine's Day holiday approaching, we wanted to see if any of our readers ever received a Valentine's gift that was memorably bad.
