The end of soccer season brings mixed feelings for me.
I am a particular fan of the game of soccer. When played well it can be a mix of grace, finesse and lightning-fast action. In many ways, due to the non-linear way the game is played, it is much more challenging to photograph than most sports.
But come late November the playoff games tend to fall at night and often on cold nights. While I might prefer a cold night under the lights shooting soccer to similar conditions for another sport, the chill and dark does eventually lead me to look forward to the warmer confines of the gyms where the winter sports are played.
