Employees at the Charter Oak Federal Credit Union kicked off the holiday season this past month by collecting 52 pairs of boots for the Santa Anonymous Winter Boot Project sponsored by the Thames Valley Council for Community Action Inc. and RSVP, the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program.
The Boot Project, which collects hundreds of pairs of wrapped boots annually for low-income children in eastern Connecticut, asked Charter Oak employees for help in collection and packaging efforts. Leading employee donations was Charter Oak's Dayville staff, which donated 21 pairs of boots on behalf of the Groton-based credit union.
With the Valentine's Day holiday approaching, we wanted to see if any of our readers ever received a Valentine's gift that was memorably bad.
