Not much to say about this UConn win. It was another uneven performance -- a terrible first half and terrific second half.
Some XL Center fans booed as the Huskies walked off the court at halftime tied with Maine. That was happened only a handful of home games during my 20 years covering the team.
Coach Jim Calhoun heard the boos.
"I'm always disappointed because I don't think you should boo college kids," Calhoun said. "The way we played, I was probably doing a little of that under my breath myself. ... I don't like it. But, once again, if you want to get the claps, everything is a double-edge sword."
Senior Jerome Dyson wasn't aware the boos were directed at the Huskies.
"I didn't think they were booing us," Dyson said. "I thought they were booing the other team. That's the way I felt. We knew how bad we played."
So here's the question: Do you think it's appropriate to boo a college team?
Calhoun did praise the UConn fans for turning out for Sunday's post-snowstorm game against Central Florida in Hartford. An announced crowd of 13,685 attended.
Another 11,366 showed up for Tuesday's game.
"Despite the fact that we haven't played big-name opponents and after a snowstorm, our fans have turned out...," Calhoun said. "And they were into the game (tonight) and they want to see us be good."
