If Sparklehorse and the Eels brought Douglas Hopkins back from the grave - if Hopkins' musical ability was somehow frozen to when he was about 14 (as opposed to when he wrote "Pieces of the Night" for the Gin Blossoms) - it might all sound like Boston's It's From the Sky.
Appearing Monday at the Oasis in New London, It's From the Sky is touring behind their latest album, the clumsily tuneful "Barbara's Bloody Footprints," a concept work about a murder mystery.
Hometowners Recur Occurrence are also on the bill. Their debut self-titled effort recalls Buffalo Tom and early Joe Jackson on tunes like "Looking On" and "Weightless."
