New London — Kendra Ferraro had 12 points and 10 rebounds Tuesday as the New London High School girls' basketball team won its first game of the season, 58-23, over Killingly in the Eastern Connecticut Conference Medium Division.
Chanel Johnson paced the Whalers (1-5, 1-3) with 15 points and Jaonna Ramseur added 10 points and five steals.
In other games:
• Mary Corrado shot 8 of 12 from the floor and had 16 points, seven assists and four steals as Bacon Academy beat Plainfield, 72-44, in the ECC Medium. It was also the 599th career win for Dave Shea, who has coached either the Bacon boys or girls for 39 seasons. Katie Mahoney had 25 points, eight steals, four assists and four rebounds for Bacon (7-0, 5-0), ranked seventh in the New Haven Register Top 10 poll, and Kelly Dixon added 13 points. Heather Evans scored 12 for the Panthers.
• Raeann Nesta had 14 points for East Lyme in its 55-37 win over Fitch in ECC Large play. Michelle LaGrotteria added 11 points for the Vikings (3-4, 2-2). Aunisha Dillon scored 13 points to lead the Falcons (1-7, 1-3).
• Alexa Long scored 13 points for Waterford in a 56-35 win over Led-yard in ECC Large play. Alyssa Hancock added 12 points for Waterford (7-1, 4-0) and Mattie Brett scored 10. Amber Lizotte had 13 points for the Colonels (2-4, 0-4).
• Kastine Evans had 19 points as fifth-ranked Norwich Free Academy beat Woodstock Academy, 58-31, in the ECC Large Division. Stephanie Long had nine points for NFA (8-1, 4-0). Jess Cornman-Homonoff had 14 points for the Centaurs.
• Ashley Walenta scored 16 points, including three 3-pointers, as St. Bernard remained unbeaten in the ECC Small Division with a 31-28 victory over Griswold. Walenta also had five rebounds and four assists for St. Bernard (5-3, 4-0). Samantha Rentz led the Wolverines (1-6, 1-3) with nine points.
• Kelsey Labas had eight points, six steals, three assists and three rebounds as Lyman Memorial beat Wheeler, 44-36, in the ECC Small. Kena Perry had eight points, five steals, four rebounds and two assists for Lyman (2-6, 1-3), which used an 11-3 second-quarter advantage to pull away. Emily Von Edwins added six points, seven rebounds and three assists. Kayla Bill had a game-high 21 points for the Lions (0-6, 0-4).
• Kelly Coleman scored 13 points as unbeaten Portland held off Old Lyme, 40-37, in the Shoreline Conference. Ali Wilkman scored 11 points for the Wildcats (6-2, 4-2) and Catherine Logan added seven points, nine rebounds and four steals. Portland is 8-0, 7-0.
• Angelica Davis had 11 points for Grasso Tech in a 44-24 loss to Windham Tech in the Constitution State Conference East Division. Grasso is 2-4.
• Evangeline Mullins, Kelley O'Hara and Chelsea Dickert each had six points for Norwich Tech in a 44-29 loss to Ellis Tech in CSC East play. Norwich Tech is 1-6.
