It's everybody's go-to topic: the weather. But some know more about the subject than others. One of the state's most popular meteorologists, "Dr. Mel" Goldstein, will talk about it all - blizzards to heat waves - at 9:30 a.m. today at Congregation Beth Shalom Rodfe Zedek in Chester.
Goldstein is promoting his book "Dr. Mel's Connecticut Climate Book," in which he discusses, among other things, the state's weather and its history.
All the book's profits benefit the Yale Cancer Center at the Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven.
This appearance is part of the "Books and Bagels" series at the Chester synagogue, which is at 55 East Kings Highway.
Admission is free. Call (860) 526-8920.
The Day hosted a web chat with New London Mayor Daryl J. Finizio to discuss the beginning of his new administration and news out of the city's police department.
