Designer Show House to raise funds for non-profit groups
WATCH HILL, RI– The Ocean House, the iconic, seaside resort in Watch Hill, R.I., will debut its 49 guest rooms and 23 private residences in June 2010 after a $140 million rebuild and restoration. The cornerstone of the luxury, Victorian-era property’s grand opening will be Show Your Cause, a Designer Show House fundraising event to benefit regional non-profit organizations. Show Your Cause will take place from June 8 to 22, 2010, offering supporters the chance to not only benefit the organization of their choice, but to be one of the first to experience the Ocean House.
“This is a truly unique opportunity in that 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit each attendee’s favorite charity,” Ocean House Real Estate Director Donna Simmons said. “We are encouraging non-profits to make use of the Ocean House as a way to raise funds at no expense to their organization.”
For a minimum $75 donation, attendees of the Show House will receive an exclusive tour of five of the property’s 23 private residences, each decorated by one of the Northeast’s finest interior designers: Cindy Rinfret, Rinfret, Ltd. of Greenwich; Hilary Heminway, Hilary Heminway Interiors of Stonington and New York; Peter Niemitz, Niemitz Design Group, Inc. of Boston; Susan Loney and Lisa Ballou, Art Design Interiors of Providence and Watch Hill and Iliana Moore, Iliana Moore Interiors of Bronxville. The tour and designer showcase will be followed by a tour of the resort and an exclusive luncheon at Seasons, the Ocean House’s signature restaurant, featuring delectable, local farm-to-table cuisine of the Atlantic Northeast. Attendees can then visit the Ocean House’s first trunk show, featuring talented artists and designers from the local area.
Show Your Cause will benefit participating 501c3 organizations. Once an organization signs up to participate, the Ocean House will provide and send personalized invitations. Individuals looking to attend may direct a donation to a participating charity of their choice by sending a check made out to their organization to the Ocean House. Upon receipt of the donation, supporters will receive an exclusive ticket to experience the Designer Show House.
“We are pleased to announce this exciting charitable event as part of our grand opening season,” said Simmons. “Show Your Cause will enable us to give back to the local community and provide a special preview of the extraordinary residences, accommodations and amenities at the Ocean House.”
The Ocean House is conveniently located less than three hours from New York, Boston and Providence, making it easily accessible to supporters throughout the region. For more information on how donors and non-profit organizations can participate, contact Donna Simmons at 401-315-5599 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
