New London - Connecticut College erupted for five goals in the third period to come from behind and defeat Skidmore College, 6-3, in a nonleague men's hockey game on Friday night at Dayton Arena.
Ryan Riffe and J.J. McGregor each scored a pair of goals in the third period as the Camels (4-12-1) snapped a five-game winless streak. Riffe also assisted on a goal by Brett Moore, while Greg Parker made 37 saves for Conn.
Women's hockey
• Lauren Duran scored the game's only goal late in the second period to lead UMass-Boston to a 1-0 win over Conn College. Sara Christopher made 17 saves for the Camels (4-11-2).
Men's basketball
• Brian Ellis had a game-high 22 points to go with nine rebounds to lead Bates College to a 64-57 win over Connecticut College in the New England Small College Athletic Conference. Demetrius Porter had 19 points and 15 rebounds and Rob Harrigan added 12 points for the Camels (7-12, 0-5). Bates is 9-10, 1-4.
• Bryon Allen, Tre Bowman and Trahson Burrell each scored 15 points in St. Thomas More's 86-78 loss to Winchendon Prep. Andre Drummond added 13 points, 10 rebounds and five blocked shots for the Chancellors (17-3). Winchendon is 19-5.
Women's basketball
• Jenn Shinall was one of three players in double figures with 14 points in Conn College's 78-59 loss to Bates in the NESCAC. Kim Horne added 13 points and Jacqueline Shinall scored 12 for the Camels (8-11, 0-5). Bates is 10-10, 1-4.
College wrestling
• Andy Snyder (157) won two matches for Coast Guard Academy in a tri-meet at Trinity College. Coast Guard lost to Southern Maine (25-13) and Trinity (29-16). Will Stark (174), Dan Pereira (184), Troy Robinson (197), Matt Leisy (165), and Paul Hahn-Rauch (289) each won matches for Coast Guard.
H.S. swimming
• John DeMarco and Reece Adamson each won three events for Waterford in a 105-54 win over New London in the Eastern Connecticut Conference. Adamson won the 100 butterfly and the 100 breaststroke, while DeMarco won the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke. Both were members of the winning 200 free relay team with John Stockman and Josh Morency for Waterford (3-5, 3-3). The team of Mark Escobido, Archia Schuleshko, Lorenzo Morales and Zach Peterson won the won the 200 free relay for New London (0-6, 0-6).
• Adam Opsahl and Andy Chen each won two events for East Lyme in a 99-79 win over Norwich Free Academy in the ECC. Opsahl and Chen won the 200 medley relay with Nik Vidakovic and Dan Connaughty. Opsahl also won the 100 breaststroke and Chen won the 100 freestyle for East Lyme (6-3, 5-1). Justin Paz won the 200 IM for NFA (3-4, 2-4) and Daniel Riley won the 100 backstroke.
• Tom Rowland won three events for Fitch in a 106.5-74.5 ECC win over Windham-RHAM. Rowland won the 50 free and 500 free and was a member of the winning 200 medley relay team with Christian Berg, Luke Watson and Henry Kietzman. Emmett Dignan won the 200 IM for Fitch (6-0, 6-0).
