Edmond and Carol Bourque of East Lyme celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 24, 2010, along the sunny beaches of Cancun, Mexico.

The couple, their four children, David, Corinne, Andre and Elizabeth, and their 10 grandchildren all gathered together over the New Year to commemorate this golden anniversary.

The Bourque family moved to East Lyme in 1969, and Ed and Carol still reside in the home built by Ed on Cavasin Drive. They met in 1957, in Boston, they were introduced to each other by Ed's college roommate, Carol's older brother, and were married in 1960, in Duxbury, Mass.
