Haddad - Azeveda

Ronald and Mary-Jane Haddad of Ledyard announce the engagement of their daughter, Bethany Haddad, to Matthew Azeveda, son of John and Carol Azeveda, and Judy Azeveda of San Francisco, Calif.

Beth is a 1997 graduate of Ledyard High School and an alumna of Lehigh University, where in 2001 she earned a B.S. in marketing from the College of Business and Economics. She is the Founder and CEO of Check-in Friends, a Bay Area-based senior service company providing care and support for older adults and their families nationwide.

Matthew graduated in 1995 with a theatre arts and film degree from the University of California at Santa Cruz and has devoted nearly 15 years working for George Lucas at Lucasfilm in San Francisco.

In 2008, Beth and Matthew took a yearlong sabbatical to backpack throughout 15 countries in the South Pacific, Asia and Eastern Europe. Matthew proposed at 18,000-feet elevation on the Annapurna Circuit Trek in the Himalayas of Nepal.

An Aug. 28, 2010, wedding is planned at the Outdoor Art Club in Marin County, Calif.
