One of the greatest stories ever told? Possibly.
At the very least, Shakespeare's "Romeo & Juliet" is one of the most influential. And it's one that is relevant enough to continue to be staged.
The Acting Company and Guthrie Theater have joined up to tour with this tale of young love, and it comes to Connecticut College Wednesday.
The New York-based Acting Company is known not only for its stagings of classic plays but also for helping to develop the careers of young actors. Among their illustrious alumni are Kevin Kline, Patti LuPone, Jesse L. Martin, and Rainn Wilson.
The Guthrie, meanwhile, is located in Minneapolis and has been described by Newsweek as "brazen, outrageous and wonderful."
The Acting Company and Guthrie Theater's "Romeo & Juliet," 8 p.m. Wed., Palmer Auditorium, Connecticut College, Mohegan Avenue, New London; $16-$26 ($14-$23.50 seniors, $8-$13 students); (860) 439-ARTS, http://onstage.conncoll.edu.
With the Valentine's Day holiday approaching, we wanted to see if any of our readers ever received a Valentine's gift that was memorably bad.
