Stout retiring from Charter Oak

Rick W. Stout, Charter Oak Federal Credit Union's chief operations officer, is retiring after 44 years in the financial-services industry.

A lifelong resident of southeastern Connecticut, Stout has worked at institutions including Pacific Finance Co., the Norwich Savings Society and Mechanics Savings Bank.

He is an active member of the Credit Union League of Connecticut, the Connecticut Mortgage Bankers Association, the Credit Union National Association's Advisory Board, and many civic groups.

He joined the Groton-based Charter Oak in December 2000 and has played arole in the credit union's growth, helping to make it one of the region's largest financial institutions.
