Super Bowl XLIV

6 p.m., CBS

This is me, doing due diligence. Because you know I don't watch. At 6 is the "kick-off show." This involves more talking, because really, you cannot talk about one single football game enough, right? The Colts vs. the Saints part starts at 6:25. Or thereabouts. Here's my funny pre-Super Bowl story: I was in Best Buy last Thursday to get ink cartridges. As I left, there were four guys and two Best Buy guys out front, all standing around a car, with a gargantuan TV in a box. The TV was too big to fit in the car. The Best Buy guy was saying, "You guys can take it out of the box if you want to, but once you do that, you have no insurance on it through us. We're done, and it's all on you." Too funny. Don't forget The Who is playing the halftime show.

Puppy Bowl VI

3 p.m., Animal Planet

Here's what we do: We TiVo this, and then watch it while the Super Bowl is on. You can go to the Animal Planet Web site to see the starting line up of puppies, all of whom are adorable and all of whom are rescued. Also, "Plus, for the first time in Puppy Bowl history, all the action will be captured in panoramic view with aerial coverage provided by the Twizzler's blimp and its rogue hamster crew. In another fun first, the sidelines will also be hopping with the addition of spirited bunny rabbit cheerleaders. Animal Planet has also booked a bevy of frolicking felines for an all-new edition of the Kitty Half-time Show."

Undercover Boss

10 p.m., CBS

Kids, you know this is not going to start at 10, because in 44 years, the Super Bowl has never taken less than an eternity to air. Clearly, The Eye adores this show, giving it what is considered in the industry one of the plummiest plum spots - post-Super Bowl. If you are interested (and I am not), set your DVR to start recording at 10 and then set it to continue recording for an extra hour. You will likely get the whole show that way. I am still burning from that "Alias" debacle a few years back. Anyway, here's the premise: "Corporate execs secretly take low-level jobs within their own organizations to find out how things really work and what their staffs really think of them. In the process, they learn about the perception of their companies, the spirits of their work force and maybe something about themselves as well." And the angels sing. Tonight, "The president of Waste Management goes undercover within the company to collect garbage." Mark your calendars for next Sunday, "When the CEO (of Hooters) goes undercover in a fast-paced kitchen, he struggles to keep up, then is forced to take action when a manager steps out of line."
