Has the word 'war' lost its impact with us?

The front page of The Day on Feb. 1 highlighted President Obama's budget. A headline and a special box made note of the amounts $3.8T and $1.6T. Too bad the military amounts were left out of the box. Deep within the article, on Page 6, mention is made of an additional $33 billion for war funding and $160 billion for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Seems that war is forgotten. Oh, well, it is 8 years old now. Old news. It no longer commands attention.
War on this and war on that ... pretty soon, the word means nothing.

The return of the Peeps contest
