Griswold Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday.

Groton Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday.

Ledyard Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday.

Montville Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday.

New London Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday.

Norwich Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday.

Norwich Free Academy will be closed on Wednesday.

Preston Public Schools will be closed Wednesday.

Stonington Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday.

Waterford Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday.

Plainfield is enforcing an immediate parking ban which will continue until the snow ends and the town highway department as cleared the roads. All residents are urged to keep vehicle off the streets. Any motor vehicle found to be violating the ordinance is subject to towing at the owner's expense. The owner could also be fined $15.

The Montville Town Council and Public Safety Building Committee joint meeting scheduled for Wednesday night has been canceled. A new meeting date has not been scheduled

The Town of Montville has declared a ban on all on-street parking beginning at 6 a.m. Wednesday that will last the duration of the storm.

The Town of Ledyard has declared a parking ban on all streets for the duration of plowing operations

The Ledyard Town Council meeting scheduled for Wednesday night has been canceled.

A webinar at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the SeCTer offices in New London on how to use SiteFinder, the Connecticut Economic Resource Center's database of available commercial properties, has been postponed because of the impending storm. The new time is 3 p.m. Feb. 17.

The Old Saybrook Zoning Board of Appeals meeting on Feb. 10 has been rescheduled to Feb. 11, starting at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall.

The Stonington Historical Society has postponed a Wednesday presentation by Norman Boas about his new book "Abraham Lincoln: Illustrated Biographical Dictionary: Family and Associates, 1809-1861" until Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Society's Richard W. Woolworth Library, 40 Palmer Street.

Stonington Town Hall will be closed on Wednesday. The Board of Finance and the Board of Selectmen have canceled their meetings slated for Wednesday night.

Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration will be closed on Wednesday.

New London police warned that a parking ban will likely take effect Wednesday. Once declared, the ban will be in effect until the completion of plowing operations.

The ban forbids parking on any streets in the downtown area and on any narrow streets. Where parking is permitted on only one side of the street, drivers should follow posted regulations. Where parking is permitted on both sides of the street, drivers should park on the odd side.

Police said free parking will be available for city residents during the parking ban at the Water Street garage and in the downtown municipal lots.

New London Little League has postponed the registration session scheduled for Wednesday. The new date is Wednesday, Feb. 24, 6:30 pm - 7:30 p.m. at St. Joseph School, 25 Squire St., New London.

The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut has postponed its annual meeting scheduled for Wednesday at The Spa at Norwich Inn.

The rescheduled date is Tuesday, Feb. 23, at The Spa, 607 West Thames St., Norwich, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. A heavy hors d'oeuvres reception will follow the meeting. The cost to attend is $35 per person. To register, visit www.chamberect.com or call (860) 701-9113.

Three Wednesday high school events have been postponed:
Ledyard at Griswold boys basketball (to Feb. 17);Old Saybrook at Old Lyme boys basketball (to Thursday); and Newtown at Norwich Free Academy hockey (to Saturday at 8 p.m. instead of 5 p.m.).

Four Norwich meetings scheduled for Wednesday have been postponed: the meeting of the local Haitian relief committee scheduled for 4 p.m. at Norwich Free Academy, and the Norwich Public Safety Committee. Public safety has rescheduled its meeting for 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 18 at the Marina at American Wharf. The Norwich Rehabilitation Review Committee has rescheduled its meeting scheduled for Wednesday morning to next Wednesday at 8:45 in the community development office at 23 Union St. The Norwich Baseball Stadium Authority has canceled its meeting scheduled for Wednesday night.
