On Feb. 6, Capt. Chris Maginniss and Eleanor D. Maginniss of Fairfax, Va., celebrated their 50th anniversary.

They marked the event at a festive weekend family affair at the Ocean Plaza Hotel in Ocean Grove, N.J.

Married in West Haven, Conn., their life together has included a career in the U.S. Navy, president of the Groton Community Service Credit Union, and frequent, wide ranging travels.

Two sons, Chris and Matt, live in northern Virginia with their wives, Anita and Marilyn, and grandchildren, Kathleen, Christopher and Caitlyn.

The Maginnisses plan to continue the celebration with a family Mediterranean cruise later in the year.
