It's too soon to say if Chester's Barbecue in Groton might become a regular source for music, but the melding of woodsmoked ribs and sausage and live bands certainly hasn't hurt Stubbs Barbecue in Austin and Lubbock - two of the most cherished performance venues in Texas.

Let's see what happens Saturday, then, when the Hoolios, Roadside Attractions and Swamp Doctors set up and roar in the Chester's comfortable side room.

The Hoolios are dependably wonderful masters of melodic roots rock and the Attractions just released a sweet debut EP called "Whispers." The Attractions will also indulge a zydeco fascination as the Swamp Doctors with the help of a few members of the Can Kickers.
