One of the coldest days in December was one of the hottest days in Groton as Maria Ana Asuncion and Anthony Small were joined in holy matrimony on the 29th at Sacred Heart Church. Afterward, a small gathering of their closest family and friends enjoyed a comfortable meal at S&P Oyster House in Mystic.
The maid of honor, Maria Luz Pascual, flew in from Atlanta while Tony's best friend and co-worker, Bob Desrosiers, accompanied him as best man.
The bride was given away by the ever-grinning son, Miguel Asuncion, while their beautiful daughter, Bea, ensured bridesmaid duties were executed to perfection.
The bride is the daughter of Lourdes and Francisco Asuncion and sister to the happy brother, Lorenzo, of Manila, Philippines.
The groom is the son of Kenneth and Evelyn Small of Niantic, and the brother of his wonderful sister, Alicia.
Both the bride and groom are employed locally and live in Groton with their two children and adorable dog, Maggie.
With the Valentine's Day holiday approaching, we wanted to see if any of our readers ever received a Valentine's gift that was memorably bad.
