North Stonington - Jamie Douton had 23 points and 19 rebounds for Wheeler in a 65-60 nonleague win over Grasso Tech in boys' basketball Monday.
Tom Gavitt added 20 points and 10 rebounds for Wheeler (7-12) and Conor Gleason scored 14. The win is the fourth straight for Wheeler, which will qualify for the state tournament with a win over Westbrook (9-9) on Wednesday.
Jacob Wilson and Tyreel Drayton each scored 16 to lead Grasso Tech.
In other games:
• Malcolm Simmons scored 25 points for New London in a 74-48 win over Stonington in ECC Medium play. Torin Childs-Harris added 20 points for New London (19-1, 12-0) and Kris Dunn scored 16. Sam Donahue scored 23 points, including four 3 pointers, to lead Stonington (11-9, 6-6).
• Dan Majchrzak scored 16 points for East Lyme in a 48-39 ECC Large win over Woodstock. Jon Nazarko added 12 points for East Lyme (18-2, 10-0), the ECC Large Division champion.
• Zach Pierce scored 14 points and St. Bernard took advantage of six Norwich Tech turnovers over the game's final two minutes in a 45-40 nonleague win. Jared Kobyluck added 11 points for the Saints (9-10). Cameron Barnhill scored 12 points to lead Norwich Tech (4-13).
• Max Alden scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds as Old Saybrook beat East Hampton 54-35 in their Shoreline Conference regular-season finale. Madison Strickland had seven points and three assists for Old Saybrook (7-12, 7-11). The Rams need to win at Morgan School in Wednesday's nonleague game in order to qualify for the state tournament.
• Christian Peterson had 14 points for Bacon Academy in a 63-38 win over Killingly in ECC Medium play. Miles Putnam added 10 points for Bacon, which finished the season at 6-14, 4-8.
• Robert Johnson scored 12 points for Montville in a 57-39 nonleague loss to Granby. Jesse Sutherland and Tyler Leeman each added seven points for Montville, which finished the season at 6-14.
• Justin Daniels scored 13 points for Griswold in a 58-32 win over Lyman Memorial in ECC Small play. Zack Korenkiewicz scored nine for Griswold (11-9, 7-3) and Nick Fessenden had eight. Nick Bessette scored 19 to lead Lyman (2-18, 1-9).
• Chris Trammell had a triple-double, scoring 12 points with 19 rebounds and 10 blocked shots as The Williams School ended its season with a 64-57 win over Rocky Hill School of Rhode Island. Jake Goldberg had 24 points, six assists and five steals, Rashad Young scored 10, and Noah Spigelman had 10 rebounds for Williams (4-18).
• Jake Turkowski scored 10 points for Old Lyme in a 54-39 loss to Cromwell in Shoreline Conference play. Pat Shaw added nine points for Old Lyme (12-8).
H.S. girls' basketball
• Marissa Peck scored 11 points with 10 rebounds, seven blocks and four steals for The Williams School in a 56-35 loss to Marianapolis Prep. Capri DeBiccari scored seven points with five rebounds for Williams (6-11).
• Kelly Ratchford scored 17 points as Old Saybrook closed out its regular season with a 50-29 win over Hartford University. Beth Morrison scored 10 points for Old Saybrook (10-10).
Women's basketball honors
• Mitchell College freshman Kaylee Cerruto was named New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week. Cerruto averaged 9.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.7 steals over three games for Mitchell.
College swimming
• Connecticut College placed sixth at the New England Small College Athletic Conference championships Sunday. Erika Fernandes finished second in the 50 freestyle, qualifying for the NCAA championships. Sarah Murphy qualified for the NCAA championships in five events (200 fly, 100 fly, 200 IM, 400 IM, 800 free relay).
