Publication: The Day
It is a really sad day for the state of Connecticut when it can deny workers' compensation to Officer Frank Chiafari of Stamford. ("Cop who shot marauding chimp says workers' comp law a 'farce,'" Feb. 26.)
I can't imagine what that poor man had to endure that day.
It's not as if he shot a wayward raccoon. He shot a 200-pound, out-of-control, wine-drinking, Xanax-popping chimp. I would imagine the chimp was more dangerous, at that moment, than your average crackhead.
Give the guy a break. Shame, shame, Connecticut.
