David Brook's column titled "Hard and soft of the Norwegians," published March 3, was riveting and reminded me of a saying I heard many years ago from a Norwegian I knew: "Ten-thousand Swedes crawling through the reeds could not beat one drunk Norwegian."
Slightly apocryphal, but if you substitute "Nazi" for "Swede," you get the idea.
