New London – A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the man wanted for fatally shooting one person and injuring another last week in New London.

City police and U.S. Marshals are still searching for Miguel "Mikey" Vega, 26, who gunned down 21-year-old Rahmel Perry during a party at a Prest Street apartment March 3.

Police have enlisted the help of the Marshals Service to find Vega, who police immediately identified as a suspect in the double shooting. Since then, they have obtained an arrest warrant charging him with murder.

Police said Vega burst in to the apartment at 53-55 Prest St. about 2:30 a.m. and shot Perry multiple times. Michael Ellis, 20, who was also shot multiple times, was treated at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital and eventually released.

Police also said they found the car they believe was used by Vega in connection with the murder. Waterbury police recovered the car before the weekend. The car was seized and taken back to New London where police are waiting on a search warrant before searching it.

In a news release Tuesday, authorities urged Vega to turn himself in to police.

The amount of the reward was not immediately clear.
