Worker injured after fall at Dow plant

Ledyard – Emergency crews responded to Dow Chemical on Route 12 this morning after a contractor fell.
Doug Meyer, an employee at Dow, said a contractor working for Americas Styrenics, also located at the facility, was injured.
Although initials reports said that the woman fell two stories, Meyer said the woman fell down some stairs and never lost consciousness.
He did not say what the contractor was doing at the time. She was taken to the William W. Backus Hospital.
The incident was reported at 6:45 a.m.
A representative for Americas Styrenics could not be reached for comment.
No further information was available.
