Bridgeport - Austin Hack had 15 points and five blocked shots for 15th-seeded Old Lyme High School in a 65-52 loss to No. 2 Kolbe-Cathedral of Bridgeport in the second round of the CIAC Class S boys' basketball tournament on Wednesday.
Nick Carlson added 14 points and five assists for Old Lyme (13-10) and Seamus Douglas had nine points with 12 rebounds and five asissts.
Ronnie Underwood scored 35 points to lead Kolbe (20-3).
In other games:
• Jon Nazarko scored 32 points for No. 5 East Lyme in the Vikings' 74-59 loss to No. 12 Wilbur Cross of New Haven in a Class L second-round game. East Lyme finishes 19-3.
Men's basketball
• Bryon Allen had 16 points for sixth-seeded St. Thomas More in a 74-69 loss to No. 2 Brewster in the semifinals of the National Prep Championship. Tre Bowman added 15 points for the Chancellors, who finish 26-9, and Andre Drummond had 14 points and 14 rebounds.
College baseball
• Freshman Nate Toll pitched six solid innings in his collegiate debut and Coast Guard Academy won its third straight with a 5-4 win Dubuque in Ft. Myers, Fla. Toll allowed three runs with a strikeout and no walks. Riley Beecher and Chris Izurieta each had two hits and an RBI for the Bears (3-2).
• Jake Matuszak had four hits and 4 RBI for UConn-Avery Point in an 18-8 season-opening win over Miami-Hamilton (Ohio). Ryan Fuller added two doubles for Avery and Kyle Cummings had three hits.
College softball
• No. 11 Coast Guard split two games at the Rebel Games in Kissimmee, Fla., defeating Greensboro 12-3 and losing to No. 5 Coe, 1-0, in a matchup of ranked schools. Holli Bastinck had three hits, including a two-run triple in the win, while Megan Cook and Amanda Frederick each had two hits and two RBI. Coast Guard is 4-2.
Men's lacrosse
• Adam Grillo and Patrick Neilsen each scored twice for Mitchell College in a 14-6 nonleague season-opening loss to Anna Maria College. Aharon Wall and John Kearney also scored for Mitchell.
H.S. diving
• Jacob Carloni of Branford won the Class M Diving championships at East Lyme with a score of 425.40 points. Mac Brodaski of East Lyme finished 22nd (223.20).
• Waterford's Jon Champlain finished ninth at the Class S championships with 269.35 points.
Teammates Nikolia Lehet (15th, 239.45) and Kaylee Deer (20th, 210.5) also competed. Sacred Heart of Waterbury's Stephen Ettiene won with 566.55 points.
Norwich Hall of Fame
