HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Attorney General Richard Blumenthal says he's investigating Toyota's response to vehicle accelerator problems, following three Camry crashes in the state this week.
Blumenthal is set to announce the probe this afternoon.
On Tuesday in New Britain, a 76-year-old woman's Camry struck the front steps of a church and sailed down a flight of steps. She and her 15-year-old grandson weren't seriously hurt.
A 77-year-old man died Thursday when his Camry crashed on Route 8 in Torrington. Another Camry rolled over in Middletown on Thursday.
The causes of the three crashes remain under investigation.
More than 8 million Toyotas have been recalled over brake and acceleration problems. The accelerator problems have been linked to 52 deaths nationwide.
