Four arrested in New London on drug charges

New London – Four people were arrested today for allegedly trafficking drugs within the city.

The arrests were made following a three month investigation by city police, the Naval Criminal Investigative Services and the Office of Adult Probation.

James "JJ" Floyd, 40 , of 161 Connecticut Boulevard, Oakdale, was charged with three counts of sale of cocaine, three counts of possession of cocaine and three counts of possession within 1,500 feet of a school. He was held on $200,000 bond.

Reginald Whitfield, 42, of 52 Warren St., was charged with sale of cocaine, possession of cocaine and possession within 1,500 feet of a school. He was held on $125,000 bond and, because he was on parole, he was remanded back to the custody of the Department of Correction.

Christopher Vincent, 41, of 70 Farmington Ave., Apt. 1E, was charged with sale of cocaine, two counts of possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Vincent, who was on probation, was held on $150,000 bond.

Shari Soto, 25, of 70 Farmington Ave., Apt. 1E, was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and interfering with police. She was released on $25,000 bond.

Police said more arrests are expected.
