Mystic - Four employees at the Liberty Bank in Olde Mistick Village are being evaluated by medics this morning after a dye pack exploded inside the bank's vault, releasing a tear-gas-like substance into the building.
Old Mystic Fire Lt. Keith Richards said that employees were preparing the bank for opening this morning when a dye pack inside the vault burst, releasing the gas. Richards said one employee in particular was affected, but four were being evaluated by medics on the Mystic River Ambulance. No one was expected to be taken to the hospital.
Old Mystic firefighters wearing air masks were inside the bank, ventilating it. The bank is closed until a cleaning crew can arrive to take over from the firefighters.
With the Valentine's Day holiday approaching, we wanted to see if any of our readers ever received a Valentine's gift that was memorably bad.
