An 18-year-old man pleaded guilty Monday to second-degree conspiracy to commit assault in connection with a drive-by-shooting in Norwich.

Merzilas Braboy will be sentenced on May 10 in New London Superior Court to 16 months in prison. He will be required to serve three years probation.

A female in the group of people standing near 25 Broadway on Sept. 28, 2009, identified Braboy as a passenger in the vehicle from which shots were fired. Nobody was injured in the incident.

His plea follows those of Richard David and Corey Wynn, who are both serving prison terms for their involvement in the shooting. Wynn, who was identified as the shooter, is serving four years.

Judge Susan B. Handy sentenced David last week to two years and one day in prison to be followed by 30 months of special parole.

Prosecutor John P. Gravalec-Pannone said although David was not identified as the shooter, the state believes the gun was handled by David before the incident.
