Columnist on the mark about paper delivery

I have been receiving The Day for the past 34 years. During that time I have had to complain about the paper not making it to my porch. The carrier throws it and sometimes it lands close, but not on, the porch. Before I put up a fence, it was on the sidewalk and would get stolen sometimes. Now I have a fence, which has helped. At least it is inside the fence.
I am a senior and have asked for it to be on the porch, but it rarely makes it there. I read a column by Ken Sorensen, which prompted me to write. ("Lament of a paper newspaper reader," March 14.) He is on the mark with his comments. I've sometimes found my paper in the snow to the side of the house. I was luckier than Ken Sorensen. At least I found it the same day it was delivered.
In the past, I gave the paper delivery person a tip at Christmas, however, Christmas 2009 I didn't. Maybe if he made a better attempt to get the paper on my porch I would do so.
