'Camp Huntington' has quite a nice sound to it

I enjoyed the opinion piece titled "What's in a name? A couple of modest suggestions," published March 13 and written by my friend, Peter J. Roberts.
I agree with him that the custom of naming the National Guard training center after the sitting governor is "a bit of Nutmeg homespun," but have an interesting alternative to offer should a permanent name for the current Camp Rell be in the offing.
Windham's Samuel Huntington (1732-1796) was the first "president of the United States in Congress assembled" from 1779-81.
After his term as president, Samuel Huntington went on to serve in other capacities, among them, chief justice of the Supreme Court in 1784 and governor of Connecticut from 1786 until his death in 1796.
Camp Huntington has a nice ring!
