Mystic - The Groton Town and Stonington police departments are advising the public of road closures and a temporary no parking ban Sunday in preparation for the St. Patrick's Day Parade.
The road closures will start about 12:30 p.m. and will remain in effect for 30 minutes after the parade ends.
The following roads will be closed: Route 27 from Coogan Boulevard to School Street; Willow Street from Route 27 to Broadway Avenue; Broadway Avenue from Willow Street to East Main Street; East Main Street from Broadway Avenue to the drawbridge; West Main Street from the drawbridge to High Street; Water Street from West Main Street to New London Road; Pearl Street from West Main Street to Clift Street and Gravel Street from West Main Street to Clift Street.
The temporary no parking order will be in effect from 4:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
The parking ban applies to the following streets: Route 27 from Coogan Boulevard to School Street; Willow Street from Route 27 to Broadway Avenue; Broadway Avenue from Willow Street to East Main Street; East Main Street from Broadway Avenue to the drawbridge; School Street; Brown Street; West Main Street from the drawbridge to High Street and Water Street from West Main Street to New London Road.
Heavy traffic conditions are expected before, during and after the parade, police said.
