Norwich man charged with sexual assault

Norwich - A Norwich man was arrested Thursday on charges that he allegedly sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl.

Gene Gagnon, 50, of 66 Hamilton Ave., was charged with third-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor and second-degree unlawful restraint.

Police said they responded to a residence in town for a report of a sexual assault.

Police said that the female minor was subjected to sexual contact by an adult male later identified as Gagnon.

Gagnon is being held on a $50,000 bond, pending his arraignment today in Norwich Superior Court.

No further information was available.
