Like guest writer Gregory Bliven, I have frequently donated blood to the Rhode Island Blood Center. ("Health rule causes 'bad blood,'" March 14.) I agree that the Centers for Disease Control's policies and practices need revision.
The honor system used by potential donors to report their travel information -along with much other personal information - before a donation is problematic. If donors don't tell where they've been and when, they can easily donate when the CDC guidelines say they should not.
