Groton— The Naval Submarine School Chief Petty Officer’s Association is holding a benefit tonight to support a local sailor whose son has been missing for more than six weeks.
Chief Sonar Technician Blake Tarter is assigned to the Naval Submarine School in Groton. His son, Bryce Daniel Tarter, has been missing since Jan. 31 from his school, Armstrong Atlantic State University.
The association is holding a ziti dinner tonight at the Submarine Veterans clubhouse, 40 School St., from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. All proceeds go to the "Bring Bryce Home" fund. Tickets are available at the door for $8 per person or $4 for kids under the age of 12.
Information can be found online at www.bringbrycehome.com.
Bryce Daniel Tarter, 19, is 6 feet tall, 155 lbs., with light brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen leaving the university campus in a white Nissan Frontier with a Maine license plate. The truck has a black grill guard, tinted windows, an Atlanta Braves "A" and an Atlanta Falcons symbol on it. Anyone with information is asked to call 910-232-1687.
With the Valentine's Day holiday approaching, we wanted to see if any of our readers ever received a Valentine's gift that was memorably bad.
