The Day's director of multimedia, Peter Huoppi, won a first place award in the National Press Photographers Association's Best of Photojournalism 2010 competition.
Huoppi's video "A Boxing Revival at Coast Guard" was selected as the first place sports video among mainstream media organizations with less than 2.5 million unique page views per month.
According to the NPPA, the Best of Photojournalism competition is the world's second largest photography contest. Over 3,000 journalists from 147 countries submitted more than 50,000 still images, videos, and Web entries to the competition.
