    TheDay.com nominated for 3 Emmys

    Huoppi's video, "The Deaf Kid Who Played Rock 'n' Roll" was nominated in the arts and entertainment category, theBoard of Governors of the Boston/New England Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced Tuesday, April 13, 2010.

    The Board of Governors of the Boston/New England Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has nominated theday.com in three categories for the 33rd Boston/New England Emmy Awards.

    A video by Peter Huoppi and Karin Crompton of the Shenkman hostage crisis was nominated in the spot news category. Huoppi's video "The Deaf Kid Who Played Rock 'n' Roll," which was reported by Joe Wojtas, was nominated in the arts and entertainment category, and Huoppi's video series "Stories of the Silent Service," which was reported by Jennifer Grogan, was nominated in the interview/discussion category.

    Theday.com and Boston.com were the only two newspaper-related Web sites among the nominees.

    The 33rd Boston/New England Emmy Awards Ceremony will be presented at Gillette Stadium at Patriot Place on Saturday, May 22. A complete list of nominees can be found at http://newenglandemmy.org.
