Mohegan Sun's slot-machine "win" last month was down 2.8 percent over March 2009, while Foxwoods Resort Casino, including MGM Grand at Foxwoods, reported today that its win for the month was down 10.8 percent.
The win is the amount wagered minus the amount returned to players. Typically, the casinos return between 91 and 92 percent of the amount wagered to players.
Mohegan Sun won $63.7 million last month, down from $65.5 million the previous March. Foxwoods won $54.9 million, down from $61.6 million.
Mohegan Sun, owned by the Mohegan Tribe, forwarded $16.2 million of its win to the state Division of Special Revenue in accordance with its gaming compact with the state. Foxwoods, owned by the Mashanatucket Pequot Tribe, made a payment of $14.4 million.
