Feed a fever with the Cabin Fever Festival and Charity Chowder Cook-Off

Remember how quaint the notion of "cabin fever" used to be? We'd have a chilly 48 hours and one quick snow storm and we'd be grousing about feeling all winter weary?

Ah, we were so young and innocent then!

This year, we have real, Arctically-cold reason to feel cabin fever. Olde Mistick Village is ready to combat that mindset with its 12th Annual Cabin Fever Festival & Charity Chowder Cook Off.

Chowder'll be served to warm folks up, with a whole range of concoctions to be offered from restaurants that include Ocean House, Bleu Squid Bakery and Cheese Shop, and Hot Rod Cafe.

A $1 ticket will buy you a 3-ounce cup of chowder - and then you can vote on your favorite one. All proceeds benefit the Emergency Food Pantry at the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center.

In addition, Olde Mistick Village will host a variety of entertainment during the day, ranging from choir performances to live prey and underwater creature demonstrations.
