Pfizer Inc., which vacated its longtime manufacturing plant in Groton more than two years ago and announced the closure of several others earlier this year, says it will spend $100 million to complete the expansion of a plant it owns in Singapore.
The investment is expected to boost production at the former Wyeth Pharmaceuticals plant, which makes infant formula and other products, by about 50 percent and add more than 100 new jobs.
The products will be delivered to Singapore and other markets, including China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan and Vietnam.
The expansion makes Singapore one of the largest nutritional manufacturing facilities in the world, Pfizer said.
