    Blumenthal maintains high-profile campaign

This is regarding the article titled "Blumenthal maintaining a low profile - but why?" published July 7.

On June 20, Father's Day, I spent from noon to 6 p.m with Dick Blumenthal campaigning at three stops in New London County.

One stop was at a home in Groton Long Point that attracted some 60 guests and the second was at a home in Oswegatchie Hills in East Lyme, where some 25 to 30 guests were present.

The third stop was at another home in Oswegatchie Hills, where some 100 people enjoyed hot dogs and hamburgers along with personal greetings and handshakes from Dick Blumenthal.

At both stops in East Lyme, Rep. Patrick Kennedy of Rhode Island and Rep. Joe Courtney of Connecticut were in attendance. Both congressmen and Mr. Blumenthal delivered rousing messages to those present.

After being in New London County for more than six hours, the attorney general departed to drive to New Haven for an evening political event.

So, I urge The Day not to intimate that "Dick Blumenthal is maintaining a low profile" when actually it is The Day that is not out and about getting the factual political news.
