STORRS, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut gubernatorial candidate Ned Lamont says he's considering doing a head-to-head debate with fellow Democrat Dan Malloy before the Aug. 10 primary.
Malloy has been accusing Lamont of dodging one-on-one debates and appearing only at issues forums, including one Thursday morning at the University of Connecticut.
Lamont, a Greenwich businessman, says it may be time to answer attacks on his record by the former Stamford mayor face-to-face.
Six candidates running for Connecticut governor appeared at Thursday's forum before the Windham Regional Chamber of Commerce. It featured 30-second responses to questions on issues ranging from the state's budget deficit to tourism.
Republican Michael Fedele referred to it as political speed dating.
The Day hosted a web chat with New London Mayor Daryl J. Finizio to discuss the beginning of his new administration and news out of the city's police department.
