Montville – It is unclear whether Tanner Grove, the Montville High School football coach who was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs late last week in Waterford, will keep his coaching job.
Superintendent of Schools Pam Aubin said Monday afternoon that no decision on Grove’s future has been made.
“We are taking it very seriously,” she said, offering no futher comment because it is a personnel issue.
Sources in the school system say Grove, 31, of Waterford is likely to keep his teaching job. Grove teaches Social Studies at Montville High School.
Grove, who played football at Montville, has been the head coach for the last four seasons. He led Montville to the state Class SS championship game last December.
Practice begins for schools throughout the state next Monday.
