A pregnant woman leaving the Old Saybrook Super Stop & Shop at approximately 9:45 p.m. last night was approached from behind by a male who demanded that she surrender all of her money. The victim told police she was under the impression that the robber was in possession of some type of weapon.
The woman was able to escape the robber before he could take anything, according to Sergeant Kevin Roche of the Old Saybrook Police Department.
The robber, believed to be the man in the photos above, fled on foot to a waiting vehicle driven by another individual and fled the scene. Roche believes the vehicle to be a Ford Explorer (pictures of the vehicle will be available soon).
The victim did not sustain any injuries.
Super Stop & Shop security cameras captured video of the attack as well as clear footage of both robbers.
Old Saybrook Police need your assistance in identifying these individuals.
Any persons able to identify the suspects or that have information about the incident are urged to contact the Old Saybrook Police Department at 860-395-3142.
