New Faces in Old Saybrook Schools

Seventeen new staff members join the Old Saybrook Public Schools roster this fall, filling slots open because staff retired, left the district, or went out on leave. Their names and the school to which they'll be assigned appear below.

Goodwin Elementary School

Sarah Albert (Moodus): Albert is a special education teacher assigned to grade 3 at Goodwin; she holds a bachelor of science in education and bachelor of arts in social services.

Kate Domnarski (Essex): Domnarski is a grade 3 teacher at Goodwin; she holds a master's degree in special education, a master's degree in literacy, and a bachelor of science in psychology.

Jennifer Cerniglia (Mystic): Cerniglia is a reading specialist at Goodwin; she earned a bachelor of arts degree in English, a master's degree in elementary education, and a remedial reading certification.

Jennifer Brodeur (Old Saybrook): Brodeur will hold a 0.5 certified teaching post in grade 2 at Goodwin; Brodeur has a bachelor of arts degree in education, a master of science degree in Reading, and a sixth-year administrative certificate as a reading and language arts consultant.

Bethany Preston (Milford): Preston is a speech and language pathologist who will serve students throughout the district; she holds a master's degree in speech language pathology.

Pamela Briddle (Old Saybrook): Briddle will be assigned the post of school family liaison; she holds a bachelor's of science degree in early childhood education and has also earned a master's of divinity degree.

Old Saybrook Middle School

Kristin Malaro (Clinton): Malaro is a special education teacher assigned to grade 4 at the middle school; she holds a bachelor of science degree in special education.

Susan Diaz (Lyme): Diaz is assigned as a psychologist to the Old Saybrook Middle School; she earned a master of science in marriage and family therapy and a sixth-year professional diploma in school psychology.

Daniel Driscoll (Wallingford): Driscoll is a science teacher in grade 6 at the middle school; he earned a bachelor's in nutritional science and a master of science in education.

Nicole Clarke (Plainfield): Clarke will be a 0.2 choral music teacher at the middle school serving grades 6, 7, and 8; she earned a bachelor's of arts in music and a degree in music education.

Caitlin Flynn (New London): Flynn will be an intern with the district; she studies business administration at Boston University.

Old Saybrook High School

Christine Clark (Old Saybrook): Clark will be a biology and general science teacher at the high school; she earned a bachelor of science degree in physical therapy and master's degrees in both health services administration and education.

Kevin O'Sullivan (Old Lyme): O'Sullivan will teach two section of math as a .4 math teacher at the high school; he earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology and a master of science in physical education.

Sharon DiSilvestro (Durham): DiSilvestro is assigned as a special education teacher at the high school; she holds a master's of arts degree in special education.

Kelli DeAngelo (Old Saybrook): DeAngelo is assigned as a special education teacher at the high school; she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in special education

Shared Staff

Greg Shyloski (Clinton): Shyloski is a special education teacher assigned to assist students in all three schools; he earned a bachelor's of science in environmental studies and will complete his master's of science degree in special education in May 2011.
