Seven arrested in NL melee

New London — A number of police officers were injured early this morning as they attempted to stop an assault at 11 Tilley Street that led to seven men being arrested.
Police declined to identify the injured officers or discuss the extent of their injuries. The incident occurred at 2 a.m.
Gabriel Rivera, 27, of 86 Colman St. was charged with assault on a police officer and breach of peace. William J. Munoz-Vazquez, 38, of 49 Blackhall St., Apt. 1,; Henry Alvino, 28, of 187 Huntington St., Apt. B3; Hiram J. Ramos, 40, of 66 Jay St., Apt. 2; Pedro Camcer Miranda, 30, most recently of Puerto Rico and Orlando A. Acosta, 21, of 147 Vauxhall St. were each charged with interfering with a police officer and second-degree breach of peace.
Gilberto Vazquez, 22, of 50 Mountain Ave. was charged with interfering with a police officer and disorderly conduct.
