Groton — James Cusmano scored with three minutes, 44 seconds left in the first overtime Monday as the Ledyard High School boys' soccer team defeated Fitch, 1-0, in the Eastern Connecticut Conference Large Division.
Jason Smith had four saves for Ledyard (3-7-2, 2-3-2). Tulsa Scott had 11 saves for the Falcons (2-8-1, 0-6-1).
In other games:
• Three different players scored as NFA beat Waterford 3-0 in an ECC Large Division game. Gavin Neuendorf had a first-half and Devin Stanton and Eliram Farjoun scored in the second half. Cameron McFarlane had two saves for NFA (8-3-1, 5-1-1) and Garrett Becker made three saves for Waterford (6-4-2, 3-2-2).
• East Lyme outshot Woodstock 23-10, but the teams played to a scoreless tie in an ECC Large Division game. East Lyme (5-4-3, 3-1-3) qualified for the state tournament for the 21st time in Paul Christensen's 23 years of coaching. Alec Smola made six saves for the Vikings.
• John Schomaker and Peter Stanners scored as St. Bernard beat Wheeler, 2-0, in the ECC Small. Kevin Kersey had eight saves for St. Bernard (3-8-1, 2-5). Jacob Sylvestre had five saves for the Lions (3-7-1, 2-4).
• Zach Nute, Cameron McCormack and Dustin Young scored for Griswold in its 3-0 win over Killingly in the ECC Small. Brandon McNeil had four saves for Griswold (10-1-1, 6-1).
• Nick Koss, Brenden Gottlieb, Malcolm McLellan and Chad Ferro scored as Bacon Academy defeated Plainfield, 4-0, in the ECC Medium Division. The Bobcats are 10-2, 6-1.
• George Logan and Brad Berry scored two goals apiece and Old Lyme remained unbeaten with a 6-0 win over Old Saybrook. Patrick Hallahan and Bobby Buttrick also scored for the Wildcats (13-0).
• Tyler Leeman scored three goals and Montville blanked New London, 6-0, in the ECC Medium Division. Jeff Tryon, Connor Leeman and Rich Lusk also scored for the Indians (9-2, 6-1). New London is 1-10-1, 0-7.
• Chad Barrett scored in the second half and Lyman Memorial also used an own goal during a 2-0 win over Tourtellotte in the ECC Small Division. The Bulldogs (11-1, 7-0) played with 10 players because of a red card.
• St. Thomas More's Bilal Pankey scored with 26 seconds left and the Chancellors and Williams finished in a 2-2 tie. Junbo Luan scored for T-More (4-4-3) and Paul Knuesen had seven saves. Tripp Cottrell had two goals and Adam Iglehart added six assists for the Blues (4-3-4).
Girls' soccer
• Emily Hamilton scored in the 60th minute to give Williams a 1-0 win over Falmouth. Catherine Malzynsky had four saves for Williams (5-4).
H.S. field hockey
• Taylor Beck, Alex Steward, Tessa Hansen, Abbi Bravi and Julia McKay scored for Old Saybrook during a 5-1 win over Westbrook. The Rams are 5-3-1.
• Claudia Leuze scored twice and Williams defeated Cheshire Academy, 3-1. Lindsay Rogers made two saves for the Williams.
College tennis
• Mitchell College freshman Mackenzie Flanagan was named the New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Year. She was a four-time NECC Rookie of the Week and finished the regular season at 11-5 overall and 6-2 at No. 1 singles.
• The Connecticut College women's tennis competed in the New England Women's Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament at Amherst, Mass.
In the a draw, senior co-captain Becca Heupel and junior Brittany Badik lost to the Bowdoin College No. 1 tandem in doubles, 8-4. Heupel dropped an 8-6 decision in singles action and Badik was beaten 8-3 in singles play.
In the B draw, senior co-captain Caroline Barone and Cassie Smith triumphed in a 3-0 victory against Clark. The Camel duo earned an 8-1 victory in doubles play. Barone and Smith registered an 8-0 win in singles action.
Sophomore Jen Herbert, the former Stonington high standout, and Sara Krivoshik fell to Wellesley, 3-0. The Blue collected an 8-2 victory in the doubles match up. Herbert was defeated 8-6 in singles action.
