Raising Haiti group to hold annual Fun Run fundraiser

East Lyme - The local medical volunteers group Raising Haiti will host its second annual Fun Run & Charity Walk Saturday at 9 a.m. at McCook Point Park.

To register for the 5k run or one-mile walk, visit http://www.raisinghaiti.com/Events.html, or register at the park on the day of the event. Registration is $15 and includes a Raising Haiti T-shirt. All proceeds will go toward funding medical clinics in Haiti.

The mission of the New London-based organization is to help improve the social, educational, and medical conditions of the people of Haiti.

According to the organization website, Raising Haiti works within the systems in place in Haiti, ensuring that every person has access to basic needs such as health care, food, education, and peace.
