Winners were revealed during GHS Poetry Day with Guilford Poets Guild (GPG). The student winners were then featured on April 14 at GPG's Second Thursday Poetry Reading at the Greene Art Gallery. At the GHS event, first prize went to Sonya Zhou for her poem, "metro-north," second prize to Sarah Eppler-Epstein for "Miscalculations," and third prize to Helen Brechlin for her poem "Back Broken." A separate contest funded by GPG member Gordy Whiteman awarded student Jaclyn Triebel a prize for the best poem about Guilford ("Guilford Train Station"). Honorable mentions for the poetry prize went to Emily Espinal, Rebecca Hasenfeld, Karolina Heleno, Jesse Iassogna, and Conor Reichart.
